Job/Project Details: GENERAL JOB FUNCTION: TRASYS, Inc. is currently seeking a BI Functional Business Analyst for a Contract to Hire in Cincinnati, OH. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Act as Functional IT Business Analyst for application system projects, with special focus on Data Warehouse initiatives with internal and external Customers and on projects that cross-application teams. Utilize and promote PDP process with business partners and external parties. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES REQUIRED: State in a series of 4-6 bulleted statements the required key outcomes or "whats" and the key actions "hows" taken for each "what." List the accountabilities in order of importance, top to bottom. Act as liaison with the business, ITSS, Business Intelligence, Sourcing PM and other IT groups to coordinate the delivery of information technology solutions to meet business needs. Understands the nature of the proposed business process change and will compose functional and technical specifications outlining the necessary modifications to the business applications for the IT organization. Provides functional process analysis, design, testing, and documentation of new and existing business applications and processes. Has a solid understanding of the business as well as knowledge and understanding of how to work with other IT groups to accomplish goals Act as IT Business Analyst for data warehouse assignments. Areas of focus include: Procurement Data Warehouse, Data Warehouse Cubes, Reports, and Analysis Data Warehouse data mining. Provide application, process, and end user support as required. Prepare and maintain project related documents and tools, such as, project scope, requirement use cases and testing scripts. Insure that business group needs are being met and that assignments are delivered on time through participation in project planning and status meetings. Educates IT organization on direction of the business. Conducts training for business users on new information technology solutions as required. Interacts with internal and external customers to better understand capabilities related to project work. Participates in the overall process improvement of functional areas within and across applications. May act as a team leader on selected assignments including: preparation of project plans, coordination of multiple resources, and reporting of project status. May instruct, direct, and review the work of other business analysis personnel. Key Challenges: Be adaptable to change due to new technology, acquisitions, business re-alignments, etc. that would require changes to an existing project or take the project in a new direction. The internal environment, including interaction with others, (both inside and outside the company) policies/practices: Work professionally and effectively with project team members and others located throughout the company by projecting competence, preparation and a clear sense of direction. The work itself, e.g., problems, opportunities, change: Assist in the implementation of common processes across functional areas and across divisions in spite of potential for some degree of conflict and/or resistance to change. Comply with all relevant activities defined in the PDP and develop additional tools/documents if necessary. Maintain a balance between on multiple projects, application support, and other assignments. Further develop personal capabilities and skills including business process analysis, application business & functional requirements definition, comprehensive integration and QA test planning/execution. Experience performing business systems analyst functions, to include: project definition, analysis of requirements, systems design, testing and user training. Minimum of 4 to 6 years experience required. Proven ability to gather customer requirements and translate into IT functional specifications. Effective analysis and problem solving skills. Practical experience with systems methodologies. Experience with tools to manage IT requests, change management, and project management processes. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact and communicate effectively with business and technical liaisons. Excellent team/collaborative skills. Excellent organization and planning skills. Ability to work on multiple projects and tasks. Basic working knowledge of MS Project. SQL and data analysis expertise Experience in at least on tool: with Crystal Reports, Business Objects, SAP Business Warehouse,Cognos PowerPlay and Impromptu.
